Who is Dr. Kenneth Brown?
Dr. Kenneth Brown has dedicated 37 years to serving as a registered and licensed clinical counselor, providing over 60,000 hours of face-to-face counseling to more than 7,000 clients through Hope Counseling Service (www.HopeCounselingService.org). Over the past 33 years, he has also served as a Florida Approved Clinical Supervisor for 22 years, mentoring and guiding over 50 counselors to achieve licensure as Mental Health Counselors or Marriage and Family Therapists. Dr. Brown has further contributed to the field by supervising Master’s level interns for five postgraduate colleges, leaving a lasting impact on the next generation of mental health professionals.
In 2003, Dr. Brown and his wife Lynn co-founded Hope for Families Adoption Services Inc. (www.HopeForFamilies.org), a Florida-licensed child-placing and adoption agency. Under their leadership, the organization has assisted over 2,500 families in adopting 3,000 children while maintaining an A+ Rating with the Better Business Bureau. Dr. Brown’s career began in 1979 when he counseled and lectured police officers, later becoming a sworn law enforcement officer with the Metro Toronto Police Force. He co-founded the Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers and initiated a nationwide 24-hour crisis hotline for officers and their families. Retiring from law enforcement in 1989, he pursued his doctorate in marriage and family therapy and established a practice specializing in counseling police and first responders.
Dr. Brown’s service extends to his role as an ordained chaplain with the International Fellowship of Chaplains and as an auxiliary chaplain for the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, where he supports deputies through the Employee Assistance Program. A Certified Crisis Responder and Trauma Specialist, he has been a member of the Treasure Coast Critical Incident Debriefing Team for 23 years. Beyond counseling, Dr. Brown has hosted a radio program for over eight years, a television program for two years, and contributed to TBN and various Christian media outlets. Since 1977, he has enriched his community through his “Hope for the Hurting Seminars” (www.HopefortheHurtingSeminars.org) and “Glimmer of Hope Ministries” (TheGlimmerOfHope.org), demonstrating his lifelong commitment to providing care, support, and hope to those in need.
